North Coast Computers – Data Recovery Consent & Agreement Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before authorizing North Coast Computers to evaluate or attempt data recovery on your device. 1. Authorization to Perform Service I authorize North Coast Computers and its technicians to conduct a diagnostic evaluation of my device to determine the nature of the damage and provide an estimate for data recovery. If I approve the estimate, I authorize North Coast Computers to attempt data recovery using their professional hardware and software tools. 2. No Guarantee of Success I understand that data recovery is an unpredictable process. While North Coast Computers utilizes advanced hardware stabilizers and safe cloning methods, there is absolutely no guarantee that any or all data can be successfully recovered. 3. Risk of Hardware Failure I acknowledge that failing hard drives and storage devices are highly unstable. The processes required to diagnose or clone a failing drive may cause it to fail entirely, rendering the drive permanently inoperable and the data completely unrecoverable. North Coast Computers is not liable for any further damage to the storage media that occurs during the normal diagnostic or recovery process. 4. Data Privacy & Confidentiality North Coast Computers agrees to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding all files and data recovered. We will not view, copy, share, or retain any of your personal or business data except as strictly necessary to verify the success of the recovery process. All backup copies of your data temporarily stored on our secure internal servers will be securely and permanently erased within 14 days of you picking up your recovered data. 5. Fees & Payment Diagnostic Fee: A non-refundable diagnostic fee of $49 is required to assess the drive's health. If the recovery is successful and I choose to proceed, this $49 will be credited toward the total cost of the recovery tier. Payment: Full payment is due upon completion of the successful data recovery. Destination Media: Recovered data must be placed on a healthy, secondary drive. I agree to either provide a sufficient blank drive or purchase one from North Coast Computers for this purpose. 6. Limitation of Liability Under no circumstances shall North Coast Computers be held liable for any claims regarding the physical functioning of the equipment, loss of data, loss of revenue, or incidental or consequential damages. North Coast Computers' total liability for any claims is strictly limited to the total amount I have paid for the data recovery services. 7. Abandoned Property Any equipment, drives, or recovered data left at North Coast Computers for more than ninety (90) days after being notified of completion or unrecoverable status will be considered abandoned. Abandoned equipment will be recycled or destroyed, and any recovered data will be permanently deleted.
